Description

The LIB-D81A1S is Sonys Desktop version of their LIB-81 8-tape AIT1 LVD SCSI Autoloader.

The AIT (Advanced Intelligent Tape) format was developed by Sony in 1996, specifically for computer applications. Compact and space-saving, with low power consumption.

The AIT1 half height tape drive is the first generation in the AIT family and was manufactured by Sony for many vendors including HP, Compaq and others for use in libraries, autoloaders and of course as standalone internal and external drives.

The AIT1 offers 35GB native capacity or 91GB compressed capacity on a single tape at transfer speeds of up to 10.4MBps or 37 GB per hour. Native, the drive provides 35GB of storage capacity with a transfer speed of 4MBps

The Sony AIT1 was available in 68pin SCSI LVD/SE, Ultra ATA/100 and USB1.1 interface versions.

Media Compatibility

All stock AIT drives have been fully refurbished by our factory trained engineers and have passed a series of manufacturer diagnostic tests designed to test the read write performance of the AIT drive.

This refurbished product comes complete with a full 6 month return to base warranty.
