Description
The SDX-1100V is Sonys AIT5 internal SCSI tape drive.
The AIT (Advanced Intelligent Tape) format was developed by Sony in 1996, specifically for computer applications. Compact and space-saving, with low power consumption.
The AIT5 half height tape drive is the fifth generation in the AIT family and was manufactured by Sony for many vendors including HP, Compaq and others for use in libraries, autoloaders and of course as standalone internal and external drives.
The AIT5 offers 400GB native capacity or 1040GB compressed capacity on a single tape at transfer speeds of up to 62.4MBps or 224 GB per hour. Native, the drive provides 400GB of storage capacity with a transfer speed of 24MBps
The Sony AIT5 was available in 68pin Ultra 160 SCSI LVD/SE, interface versions.
