Description
The SDX-900V/L is Sonys AIT4 internal SCSI tape drive for libraries and autoloaders.
The AIT (Advanced Intelligent Tape) format was developed by Sony in 1996, specifically for computer applications. Compact and space-saving, with low power consumption.
The AIT4 half height tape drive is the fourth generation in the AIT family and was manufactured by Sony for many vendors including HP, Compaq and others for use in libraries, autoloaders and of course as standalone internal and external drives.
The AIT4 offers 200GB native capacity or 520GB compressed capacity on a single tape at transfer speeds of up to 62.4MBps or 224 GB per hour. Native, the drive provides 200GB of storage capacity with a transfer speed of 24MBps
The Sony AIT4 was available in 68pin Ultra 160 SCSI LVD/SE, interface versions.
