Description
The TSL-A300C is Sonys 4-tape AIT1 25/50GB LVD SCSI Autoloader.
The AIT (Advanced Intelligent Tape) format was developed by Sony in 1996, specifically for computer applications. Compact and space-saving, with low power consumption.
The AIT1 half height tape drive is the first generation in the AIT family and was manufactured by Sony for many vendors including HP, Compaq and others for use in libraries, autoloaders and of course as standalone internal and external drives.
The AIT1 offers 25GB native capacity or 50GB compressed capacity on a single tape at transfer speeds of up to 8MBps or 28.8 GB per hour. Native, the drive provides 25GB of storage capacity with a transfer speed of 4MBps
The Sony AIT1 was available in 68pin SCSI LVD/SE, Ultra ATA/100 and USB1.1 interface versions.
